This wonderful old style climbing bean will grow to 180cm in
height. It is an old time favorite bean that is early maturing
in around 60 days. The pods are fleshy slightly curved and
about 15-25 cm long. They are stringless when young with
excellent flavour. Kentucky Wonder Wax is considered the
best climbing butter bean. It has been a staple for 150 years
The plant is favoured for flavour, its ability to set pods in
cool weather and its resistance to some bean diseases
It has an open plant habit that allows for easy picking.
The vigorous vines will continually produce large clusters
of beans until late in the season.

Sow seeds 3-4 cm
deep 15 cm apart in two or three rows 20 cm apart. Sow
in Spring after last frost & during Summer. A well drained
position in full sun, with plenty of organic matter in the soil.
Make sure the soil has ample lime or wood ash to ensure
a high pH for best results.
