Phaseolus vulgaris
This is a well respected variety that is early maturing and very prolific, one of the best producing varieties. It has an open plant habit that allows easy picking and good airflow. It is quite resistant to most fungal diseases. The beans are stringless,fleshy,and round podded like a pencil It produces well in dry conditions and will also tolerate very cold conditions. These beans are moderately vigorous and will reach 1.6 m in height.
Direct sow seeds 10- 15cm apart in rows that are 45cm apart. Gently push the seed into the soil, cover lightly and water. Poor germination generally reflects over watering and rotting of seed. Beans are a nitrogen fixing crop. Sow in Spring to Summer in a well drained, full sun position. Make sure soil is not too acidic by adding some dynamic lifter or wood ash or lime before planting
