Strawberry Spinach is a most unusual plant but one
worth trying in the garden. It produces leaves very
similar to an English Spinach with a similar flavour.
As it matures vines extend from the central core and
along the length of these vines, numerous red berries
develope. The berries can be used in salad mixes or
for making jams etc.. It was origionally grown by
monks in a German monastry over 400 years ago
The leaves and berries are rich in vitamins A and C.
This is a very easy plant to grow.

This is a very easy plant to grow. It can be planted at
anytime of year in tropical and subtropical areas.
Plant from mid September until march in cool and
temperate areas. Sow the seed shallowly or
broadcast over the bed and water lightly and regularly
until established. The leaves can be picked at any
stage and the berries are best left to turn dark red
befor harvesting as they ripen.
