Brassica oleracea  var Botrytis

This is an open pollinated variety which has
creamy, white, deep and heavy heads, which
area well protected by inner leaves. The heads
will be ready for harvesting in approx 13 - 15
weeks from planting the seed. Cauliflower is
closely related to cabbage, broccoli and brussels
sprouts and other members of the Brassica clan,
Like these others it requires a fertile soil with good
moisture-holding capacity. Cauliflowers do not
generally do well in hot weather, with the most
success being with Autumn & Winter sowings.
A full sun position is always advantageous.
Sow the seed 0.5-1.0 cm deep and space the
plants 45-60 cm apart in rows 60-100 cm apart.
Keep protected from slugs and snails when small.
It is best to plant seed in pots or trays and
transplant into your garden later when the
seedlings are about 10cm high
