Brassica oleracea var botrytis

This is a very early, open pollinated variety which
has snow white, firm and heavy heads, which are
crisp and tender with excellent flavour. The  heads
will be ready for harvesting in approx 10 weeks from
planting the seed and should be picked when the
curd is still very tight. Cauliflower is closely related to
 cabbage, broccolli, brussels sprouts and other
members of the Brassica clan.

Like these others it requires a fertile soil with good
moisture-holding capacity. Cauliflowers do not
generally do well in hot weather, with the most
success being with Autumn & Winter sowings.
A full sun position is always advantageous.
Sow the seed 0.5-1.0 cm deep and space the
plants 45-60 cm apart in rows 60-100 cm apart.
Keep protected from slugs and snails when small.
It is best to plant seed in pots or trays and
transplant into your garden later when the
seedlings are about 10cm high
