This variety is the benchmark for butterhead type lettuces. It has soft, small to medium head with lightly-savoyed green leaves with a small heart. It is one of those lettuces that everyone enjoys to eat and it looks very lovely . It is easy to grow but needs to be grown fast and close together to combat weeds. Approx 7 weeks to maturity. This lettuce will grow in light shade to full sun.
Sow on the surface in shallow furrows, or cover lightly with vermiculite. and keep surface moist. Plant all year round. Continual sowing fom early Spring to midsummer will ensure a continual crop. In warmer areas, avoid sowing during very hot weather. Does well from soil enrichment. Good idea to apply liquid fertiliser to encourage tender, robust growth.
