This attractive Italian capsicum, Marconi Red is a very sweet
elongated fruit sometimes reaching 30cm long and 8cm across
at the top. They can be eaten raw when still green but develop
greater sweetness as they ripen to a beautiful rich red colour.
Marconi Red is a great frying capsicum as well. It is a very
early variety known for having high yields.

Sow Capsicum seed0.5-1cm deep spaced 50-60 cm apart
in rows 1.0-1.5 m apart. The soil should be warm, over 18C
Capsicums take about 75-90 days to produce ripe fruit.

Cold Temperate areas, Sept to Nov.
In Temperate areas it is best to plant using seedlings
prepared a month to six weeks earlier. Capsicum like
alkaline soil and do best in gardens with dolomite, lime
or wood-ash added to the soil.
