This variety of Chinese Cabbage is very slow to bolt. It has is very similar to Tatsoi to look at but it is more upright, has larger, softer,more savoyed leaves and the plant is more vigorous. It is a winter hardy salad green. It has delicious flavour which is worth a try for those who have never experienced it. The plant benefits strongly from soil enrichment. It does best in a full sun position. It can be planted all year round nearly anywhere in Australia but it does best in the period from Spring to Autumn. Direct sow seeds where you wish to grow the plant. Make drills in the soil, and apply 2 seeds every 20-30cm and then thin these out to one seedling every 20-30cm when more established. Ensure adequate water is applied when starting the germination and growing. Apply a liquid fertiliser every two weeks for the greatest yields.
