This distinctive zucchini is highly valued for its
slightly nutty flavour and prized for the quality of its
texture. It is an old Italian variety and is an extremely
good bearer. The fruit are best harvested at
12 -15cm when they still have the flower attached.
Fry them with the flower attached or dip the flowers
in batter and fry them seperately.
The fruit have distinctive smooth raised ridges along
their length. They do best when direct seeded into
the garden rather than transplanted.

Sow seed 3-5 cm deep in rich composted
soil The more preparation you give your soil with rich
organic matter, ensuring high nitrogen levels, the
better you will be rewarded. Plant in full sun and
keep your soil moist but not wet. Good drainage
is a must. Space plants about 75-90 cm apart.
