If planting in a weedy are firstly begin by slashing all the growth down and tilling the soil to incorporate this slash. Wait a week or so and lightly till the soil to obtain a reasonable seed bed as possible.
Prepare the bed by raking to create close rake furrows. Mix your seed thoroughly and scatter the seed evenly across the whole area. Once the seed is down, lightly rake the bed to bury the seed shallowly and then water well without puddling the soil.
When planting into compacted soil or beds made over construction site ground if possible try ripping the soil or breaking up the compaction before planting as demonstrated above.
