Red Bandit salad mustard greens are lush, dark red, scallopped edged leaves with a piquant, appertising flavour. It is a winter hardy salad green also known as Japanese Mustard. It has a tangy flavour well worth a try for those who may never have experienced it. The plant grows similarly to kale but with a more interesting and acceptable flavour. It does best in a full sun situation where it can be planted out at any time of the year in nearly any place in Australia. It is best planted in th period from Spring until Autumn.
Direct sow seeds where you wish to grow the plant. Make drills in the soil and plant 2 seeds about 20-30 cm apart. They can be thinned to one plant at any time when more established.
