CHILI - NEW MEXICAN TWILIGHT

Capsicum annuum

This is a hot, ornamental chili with green leaves and purple fruit that ripens through

yellow, orange, and then red. This variety has fruit in all four colour states at the same time.

It matures and produces fruit within 85-to-120 days of transplanting. P

lants produce good yields of 2 cm long by 1.25 cm wide hot, edible chillies.

The chillies grow upright in clusters and are very hot.

The plant has green stems, green leaves and white flowers.

This very ornamental chillie is very suitable for growing in pots and on patios, verandahs and even indoors.

Sow chillie seed 0.5cm -to 1cm deep in pots and then transplant into the garden 50-60 cm apart.

The soil should be warm, over 18C and frost free.

They take 75 - 90 days to produce fruit and will keep producing until cold weather comes to slow them down.

Chillies are perrenial and can be kept indoors over winter.

Chillies like alkaline soil and a little addition of woodash, dolomite or lime does wonders for them.
