63 days to maturity. Beetroot is adaptable to all climate
zones. A good idea with beetroot is to soak seeds for
a few hours prior to direct sowing in drills 20-30cm
apart and 12mm deep. Cover the seeds with compost
or vermiculite and keep moist. The best times to sow
seed in temperate climates is Jul to Mar, and Sep
to Feb in colder areas. Beetroot keeps well in open
storage for a few weeks but will keep for 2 to 3
months when stored in a refrigerator.
