Swedes like a soil that has been prepared
with lots of organic matter. The soil must be well drained, as
do most root vegetables. This is in order to prevent root rot.
If drainage is an issue consider raised bed gardening for this
crop. The seeds should be sown1cm deep and 12-20cm
apart in rows 30-50cm apart. Sow in Sep- Apr in both Cool
and Temperate areas and Aug-May in the Subtropics and
from Mar- Sept in the full Tropics.
