PARSLEY - HAMBURG ROOT
PARSLEY - HAMBURG ROOT
Petroselinum crispum var. tuberosum
This Parsley has a well developed root looking almos
exactly like a parsnip but with a very differnt taste. It is
used in the same way one uses parsnips and can
also be enjoyed eaten raw. The leaves are used in the
same way regular parsley leaves are used.
This vegetable contains histidine, which is an
important amino acid that inhibits tumors.
Hamburg Rooted Parsley
is rich in Flavinoids and in Antioxidants.
Germination is aided by storing the seed in the fridge
for 10-30 days prior to planting.
Planting Instructions:
Depth of seed 0.5-1cm deep Spaced 8-10cm apart.
Rows 35-50cm apart Sowing Time: Tropics from Mar
to May. Subtropics from Feb to Sep. Temperate from
Jul to Mar. Cold areas from Aug to Feb
Parsnips do not like extremely hot weather and they
will do very well in frosty conditions. Frost changes
the sugars in the plant making them sweeter.
