MINT - SPEARMINT

Spearmint is a widely used perrenial herb that grows 30-100cm tall, with hairy stems. It produces spikes of white flowers. It grows best in temperate areas but is widely adapted. It is best grown in pots or in areas, such as an orchard, where its spreading habit will not interfere with other plants. It likes partial shade but grows well in full sun too. mostly used as a garnish and in teas and vinegars or oils, it is a flavour used in many commercial products such as toothpaste, confectionary and bathroom products. It is often used for stomach problems but has also been considered for antifungal purposes, used to combat hair growth in women and to balance hormones in both men and women. It has effective anti oxidant properties as well. Seed is just spread on finely tilled soil and raked in, then kept moist. It should germinate within 14 days and it grows very quickly when kept in damp soil. It tolerates most soil conditions. QTY 1000-1500 seeds
