It is a fast growing plant and can usually grow faster than snails can decimate the leaves. It is very rich in minerals and great for juicing and cooking. This variety of kale is tender sweet and mild flavour leaves, that are very high in Vitamin A. Can be used as either young leaves in salad mixes or boiled like cabbage when the leaves are older. It is a vigorous though smaller plant than the red russian only growing to a height of 40cm. Enjoys a spot in the garden that gets full sun and well drained soil. Neutral pH is also a plus for this plant. Sow after last frost, as only mature plants tolerate frosts 60-70 days for maturity.
