BEAN - COLES EARLY DWARF - broad bean

Vicia faba

This is a hardy very early dwarf variety of broad bean that is an excellent choice for areas that are prone to winds and storms during the growing season as it has less tendency to blow down (lodge). It is an early, prolific cropper of medium plants with average length pods. The bean plants are nitrogen fixing in your soil so they can also be used as a green manure. Maturity is reached in approx. 80 - 100 Days. This variety has an excellent flavour and is one of the most popular. Soak the seeds for 2-4 hrs. in a dilute seaweed solution which will help to speed up germination.
