 GOURD - SMALL WARTY MIX

Gourds are a fun and easy vegetable to grow. This
packet offers a mixture of the smaller fruiting varieties.
Each with its own unique shape and unusual colouring.
When mature you can dry them out and make them into
your favourite gift, toy or practical tool. make your own
maracas at home. Decorate them with paint or dye to
add something extra to your unique gift.

All gourds require
well drained soil, and preferably a sunny position. Seeds
planted in Spring and summer should start to germinate
within three weeks. Grow on mounds of compost or animal
manure, this will ensure a faster growth cycle. Plant two
seeds in each hole and thin to the strongest of the two at a
later stage. Only sow the seed to a depth of twice its size.
Once your seedlings are growing, apply liquid fertiliser to
encourage healthy growth.
