CUCUMBER - GIANT RUSSIAN
Giant Russian is a pale coloured cucumber that grows to a
very large size without losing quality. It has a fairly mild
taste and sweet, even when mature. It gradually turns from
pale yellow to orange as it matures. Giant Russian performs
better than most in cool conditions and stores for a couple of
months in good condition. The plant begins bearing
late but is a long season picker.

better than most in cool conditions and stores for a couple of
months in good condition. The plant begins bearing
late but is a long season picker. It is a warm season
vegetable but is adaptable to all climate zones. In warmer
areas, sow from July to March. In temperate areas the
best months for planting are September to January and in
cold climates they are best sown in October to December
Sow seeds direct into well prepared beds with added
compost. Your soil must be 20 Degrees or above for best
germination results. Press 4 seeds into a 1-2cm deep hole
and thin later to 2 seedlings. Space the plants about 90cm
apart. Can be grown on a small trellis.
