Kankong is a very important culinary plant of Asia. It is eaten for its leaves and stem tips which are used extensively in Asian stir fries and often cooked like spinach. It has attractive white trumpet like flowers and is often planted inside the home in old disused aquariums in nontropical zones. The branch tips can be harvested at about 30 days from planting and harvested about each 7 days. The plant likes moist soil and lots of manure and compost. It will slow down growth as the days begin to shorten but it is perrenial in tropical areas. The seed be sown 1cm deep in spring and planted closely (10-15cm apart) in order to maximise the number of growing tips. A trellis is advisable to facilitate the climbing of the branches and to reduce weed competition. WEIGHT OF SEED IN PACKET 2.2 g APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF SEEDS IN PACKET 50
