DIRECTIONS FOR SPROUTING Cress is a seed that looks great when sprouted on a clay saucer. They can also be sprouted in a sieve or tray. Soak the seeds 4-8 hours, rinse 2-3 times daily for the 4-6 days they take to germinate. Eat at 2-4 cm. These seeds are slightly mucilaginous (a gel forms around the seed). You can also mix the seed with alfalfa or red clover seeds to give a good sprouting mix which also tones down the pungency of the cress seeds. Cress is extremely high in vitamins A and C. When grown in soil in trays it is very fast growing. Pungent foods help discharge toxins, stimulate the circulatory system, the colon, and trigger endorphin production. Cress seeds are an excellent source of sulphur which is an important mineral for its cleansing and antiseptic effect on the blood and digestive system. It is essential for healthy hair, nails, and skin and for protein and carbohydrate absorption. Cress is a particularly valuable cleanser of the rest of the body: the gel substance absorbs toxins, particularly heavy metals and aluminium.
